Ron Barth Resource Furniture

Ron Barth
Co-Founder/World Traveler

Ron Barth co-founded Resource Furniture in 2000 with his business partner, Steve Spett and a chair. Actually, two chairs and a table. Since then, together they have built Resource Furniture from that single room into a global brand. Ron’s dedication (umm . . . obsession) to finding the finest products and providing 100% client satisfaction sets a high bar for everyone (which they gleefully jump over.)

Steve Spett
Co-Founder/Resident Vegan

Steve founded RF with his partner Ron in 2000. Since then they have built RF into the global brand that it is today. One of Steve’s primary focuses is on our contract division working closely with developers, hoteliers and their design teams. He also focuses on his clients, staff, and family but not necessarily in that order.

Challie Stillman
Design Director/Hand Holder

Challie is our very own Wonder Woman - dashing to clients' apartments in the nick of time to save them from the evils of puce, fluorescent lighting and doors that open into each other. She thinks outside of the box, and keeps a stack of creative solutions in her back pocket at all times. She is our go-to girl with any questions about anything aesthetic. And she’s always right. Keep that in mind.

Lisa Blecker Resource Furniture

Lisa Blecker
Director of Marketing/Resident Mastermind

Lisa almost comes from Kentucky. In Kentuckagueese, LISA means “woman with many hands”. She’s been seen working with clients in the showroom, writing press releases, and creating new and exciting advertising.

Kirk Schuly Resource Furniture

Kirk Schuly
Director of Production & Logistics

No stairwell is too narrow, no custom order is too crazy for backpack-toting Kirk - whether it’s convincing the delivery guys to walk up those six flights of stairs no one mentioned or figuring out that the ceiling is 2” lower than the furniture BEFORE the order is placed, Kirk is everyone’s hero. He needs a cape.

Pat Pujols

After obtaining a BBA at Baruch College and an MBA in Finance at St. John’s University, Pat worked for many years as a Controller and is now blessing us with her knowledge and expertise. In her spare time, Pat enjoys hiking upstate and spending time outdoors when the weather is nice. Her favorite spot, however, is on the beaches of the Domincan Republic, where her family is from and where she grew up.

Thomas Coon Resource Furniture

Thomas Coon
NY Showroom Manager/Man Who Can Do Everything

Thomas is the most creative, talented, smart and charming person you'll ever meet. He's super-knowledgeable about absolutely everything and stays cool as a cucumber under even the tightest deadlines. Plus he's tall and handsome and he surprises us with new hair styles frequently.

Christine Salzer Resource Furniture

Christine Salzer
LA Manager/Resident Canadian

Los Angeles didn't know what hit it when Christine came to town a few years ago. Her experience, humor and insight are what have made the LA showroom such a huge success. (well, that and her skill at picking the right people to work with!) LA couldn't have happened without her, but NY misses her very much.
Plus, she makes a mean cocktail.

Jennifer Scher Resource Furniture

Jennifer Scher
DC Manager/Resident Smarty Pants

Winning the award for most educated, Jennifer knows what she’s talking about. In addition to her Masters in Interior Design from Pratt, she has a Masters in International Business and formerly worked on Wall Street (I know, right?). Not only is her insight adored by both us and clients alike, her funky sock collection is top notch.

Eva Eastman
SF Showroom Manager / Chair Savant

Good luck finding anyone more passionate about furniture than Eva. She comes from St. Louis and is a California girl at heart (in addition to SF, she has lived in LA and Lake Tahoe too). Her expertise comes from working for some of the top furniture brands in the business (plus, she is a pro at contract and commercial projects, too!). In addition to curating her impressive collection of chairs, she hangs with her 5lb rescue mutt named Pnut in her spare time. We’re thrilled to have her and her sense of humor on board in San Francisco!

Jake Verost Resource Furniture

Jake Verost
Sales Expert/Resident Know-It-All

Jake, in fact, does know everything. It’s irritating and invaluable at the same time, which is confusing, yet comforting. If you have a 3’ x 5’ room and need to sleep 14 people, Jake could definitely figure out how to fit in two more. Go ahead - just try to stump him.

Mariel Maia Resource Furniture

Mariel Maia

Aside from keeping the entire staff in line, Mariel personally answers every inquiry from every person in every country every day. She knows which beds will support a 3-person pillow fight (answer: all of them, but the question was frankly way funnier than the answer) and she knows how long something will take to ship to Yugoslavia. (Answer: not as long as you would think for a country that doesn’t exist anymore). Now that she is back from maternity leave (after giving birth to the cutest boy baby in the Resource Furniture family) we are all finally back to normal around here.

Emily Ingram
Sales Expert/Queen of Sass/Ice Princess

Emily grew up in San Jose and after a stint in Los Angeles she made her way to the east coast. She got to experience her first New York winter with us (space heater included)! With her sense of humor and eye for style, Emily is a designing superstar. When she is not working her magic at Resource Furniture, Emily likes exploring new places with her dogs Phypher and Olivia in tow.

Ted Layton
Sales & Design Consultant – New York

Born in Mexico City, and raised in Ecuador and Florida, Ted is the latest addition to the Resource Furniture sales team. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Design from Philadelphia University and a PMP Certificate from Rutgers University. In his spare time, he’s an amateur photo/videographer, fan of nature shows and an aspiring podcaster.

Jay Leo
West Coast Project Manager

Jay is the friendliest guy you’ll ever meet. After living in California and Australia, Jay (a Long Island native) returned to New York to start his own business building furniture out of reclaimed wood and found his way to us. As East coast project manager, Jay makes sure installations go smoothly. Jay has visited every US state except Alaska (lazy), is an avid surfer, and essentially makes the rest of us look bad.

Resource Furniture Team

Pieter Depreeuw
Technical Project Manager

Pieter hails from Belgium and as a result has excellent taste in beer and chocolate. With degrees in woodworking and drafting, Pieter knows a thing or two about furniture design. Pieter is an integral part of the Resource Furniture team -- and not just because he can school the rest of us in his knowledge of cars and technology.

Samantha Cunningham
Purchasing Manager

Samantha hails from Queens, a well-known breeding ground for super geniuses (according to Steve). With a background in the arts, Sam traveled to Ghana to study traditional African arts and after graduating college, lived in Thailand for a year teaching English . As Purchasing Manager Sam processes all our orders and gets them shipped (so be nice to her).

Maryam Tabatabai
Logistics Manager

Maryam handles scheduling and has a background in domestic and imported textiles from design to shipping, having worked for a sweater manufacturer before coming to Resource Furniture. She was born in Iran and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Now in Brooklyn, Maryam loves yoga and her cat and two dogs.

Sam Vider

After spending two years in Israel, Sam studied furniture and industrial design at Parsons and went on to gain extensive experience in Autocad and 3d rendering software. Most recently working in the tile and stone industry, Sam has now migrated into the world of Italian-made furniture, and boy are we happy to have him! Outside of the furniture world, Sam enjoys live music, plays the guitar, and is a huge car freak: his favorite manufacturer is Ferrari (maybe because it is Italian?).

Maria Claudia Narvaez Arango
Design Consultant

Maria Claudia grew up in Colombia and came to New York a few years ago to study Interior Design at Parsons, where she received her Master’s degree. She’s responsible for space planning, drawings and 3D renderings of individual client projects and also manages tearsheets. She’s a big fan of traveling and has visited 33 countries.

Chelsea Wolocko

Born in LA and raised in Detroit, Chelsea graduated from Western Michigan University with a dual degree in performance and production design. We are continuously entertained by her bright and charismatic personality, but the moment we really fell in love with Chelsea is when she graced us with the most delicious Christmas cookies we’ve ever had. In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys spending time outside and is an avid Instagramer – her muse and favorite subject is her cat, Sir Arthur.

Kendall Cheston
Sales & Design Assistant

Originally from North Carolina, Kendall is a recent graduate of Meredith College and lucky for us she recently relocated to DC. She's a dog lover and one of her favorite hobbies is baking pies (we're still trying to figure out a way to get her to regularly ship pies to the rest of the showrooms).

Micaela Hanney Resource Furniture

Micaela Hanney
Auxiliary Billing/Mommy Mixologist

Micaela's move to Virginia left us all in tears, but in true Resource Furniture style, we refused to let her go. So she's happily working remotely with her assistant, Mara in tow. Come back to NY, Micaela!

Tyler Davis
West Coast Project Manager and Logistics

Tyler is a welcome addition to the LA team, bringing with him many years of experience in the field. After growing up in California, Tyler made his way to New York (on his motorcycle to boot!) and spent a decade working in furniture and design. Now he’s back on the west coast with his wife and baby boy, and in his “spare time” (used loosely as all young parents will know) he’s a drummer, camper and woodworker.

Andy Zeff
Design and Sales Consultant

Andy was born and raised in Los Angeles (just a few blocks from the LA showroom) and longtime member of the LA design community. Aside from his design background, he has spent time as an anthropologist living in Guatemala, collecting folk art in Mexico and even worked with children as an art therapist.

San Francisco

Gregory Johnson
Sales and Design Consultant

Gregory is a self-described, Texas-born “military brat”. He grew up in Washington state and has lived in San Francisco for over 20 years. He has a degree in interior design and has been working in the industry ever since. Outside of work, Gregory often explores estate sales to find unique treasures and -- like many of us – he’s a foodie.
