A View From the Arlo - A Cosmopolitan Enclave

With 325 playfully designed micro guest suites, endless views of the Hudson River from atop lofty rooftop terraces, and a central courtyard area speckled with sheet tents affectionately named “Camp Arlo,” this eclectic boutique hotel is a cosmopolitan enclave all onto itself—a haven for lifestyle enthusiasts, urban nomads, and Instagrammers.

In our opinion, the best parts of the Arlo Soho aren’t just the trendy craft cocktails, the moody lounges or fashionable guests. No, the best parts of the Arlo are the surprises concealed in hidden spaces—the secret compartments cleverly tucked under sofas and behind walls. That’s because this unique hotel now features a new concept room—a suite outfitted with flexible, multi-purpose furnishings and space-saving storage systems from Resource Furniture.

Recently, we had the pleasure of installing our Oslo Sofa wall bed in Arlo Soho’s newest micro guest room. Though only about 150 square feet, this suite utilizes our multi-functional transforming sofa bed system to maximize every available inch of space and create a sense of room “flow.” In one effortless motion, the queen-sized Oslo folds away to reveal a luxurious modern sofa, instantly doubling the room’s floor space and overall functionality. Guests can wake up to gorgeous views of the Hudson River from the comfort of a European-crafted queen bed, then unwind over cocktails and board games across ample seating in the very same space.

But this concept room has more than a few space-maximizing amenities; just beyond the Oslo is a spacious outdoor terrace, complete with lounge chairs and an additional outdoor shower. This, paired with clever use of transforming furniture, allows for seamless indoor-outdoor hybrid use of space.

The Arlo Soho is just one of many hotels, developments and organizations we proudly collaborate with as part of our mission to help people re-imagine the potential of small urban space. For the city explorer with a taste for multi-functionality, what more could you ask for?
