In Brooklyn, there is no shortage of creative energy coursing through the streets. Space, however, comes at a premium.

  • Enter Jonathan Rose Companies and their latest building: Caesura.

What you do with that space, once you’ve finally obtained it, calls for as much of that creativity as possible. Located in the middle of the Brooklyn Cultural District, Caesura speaks to the ingenuity of modern Brooklyn living. Resource Furniture had the privilege of teaming up with Jonathan Rose Companies to design 34 of the building’s 123 units as furnished studios. These micro-units prove to be a modern solution to the looming question of how to efficiently utilize square footage. Inspired by the superior quality of Clei products from Italy, we outfitted those 34 units with some of our most multifunctional items.

The micro-studios measure between 314-384 square feet, providing an opportunity to employ versatility with contemporary elegance in furniture. They include several of our pieces such as the Swing sectional sofa wall bed and Penelope sofa wall bed, media cabinets with 49″ smart TVs, additional cabinetry, and two types of transforming tables (the Mini Table and the Voile). Resource Furniture worked with Jonathan Rose Companies in the furniture layout, as well as logistics, installation, and ongoing service.

Caesura offers more than just added value for less space, though. A bevy of amenities, including their lending library of “common goods” is intended to “reduce consumption and clutter while having access to products one might otherwise splurge on,” according to Jonathan Rose, as quoted in The New York Times. Some of the items available for residents to borrow are a ladder, a sewing machine, even a guitar with an amp to practice Rolling Stones riffs!

There is also a fitness center, game room, bike parking, and rooftop garden lounge designed by SCAPE, not to mention walking distance to a Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joe’s, an Apple Store, and Barclay’s Center and Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
