The Suffolk Abode: Chic Living on the Lower East Side
New York City's Lower East Side has long been celebrated for its vibrant culture and historic charm. Now it has received a modern addition with the arrival of The Suffolk, the latest project from Gotham Properties. Located at 55 Suffolk Street, this project promises to be a game-changer for the neighborhood, with 378 residences, including 33 micro units, and approximately 330,000 square feet of mixed-use space.
Micro Living Meets Luxury
One of the standout features of The Suffolk is its three dedicated micro- unit floors, developed by Gotham under a new concept called Abode by Gotham. Measuring in at 315 - 500 square feet, these units are furnished with transforming Oslo Sofa wall beds by Resource Furniture to effortlessly balance comfort and flexibility. Resource also provided modular cabinetry and closet systems to maximize storage space in these compact units.
The Suite Life
Abode by Gotham offers a wealth of amenities to its residents, consummating the coveted Lower Manhattan lifestyle. Amongst these amenities are a chef’s kitchen and even a resident-exclusive lounge. Residents of Abode by Gotham may enjoy a fire pits and barbeque, a rooftop pool and sundeck,; as well as and a state-of-the-art fitness club and yoga studio to foster healthy living and community engagement among residents. Additionally, a 24-hour staffed lobby, personal concierge, and resident storage are all available to residents.
A Collaborative Effort
Behind every great project is a team of creative minds, and The Suffolk is no exception. In Addition to Resource Furniture’s Contract Division, Dattner Architects, JG Neukomm Architecture, and Monadnock Construction have all come together to bring this vision to life. Their combined expertise ensures that The Suffolk is not just another development, but a testament to the artistry of contemporary urban design.
